I have only just started reading this book. However, I originally picked up this book because it mentioned one of favourite books ‘Wide Sargasso Sea’ on the cover and if something is compared to such a good book, it must be a good book. I could well be proved wrong, only time will tell. A book set in the past with Frankie telling her story for the first time.

A book I simply could not put down and read in a day. The story is written from the perspective of a very interesting character who we learn more about as you read on. The story untangles as you read switching between time periods. I had to really focus on each chapter to make sure I followed but all made sense by the end. Who knew so much could happen in just one house!

Why I like this book:

A book trapped in the mind of one young man. You never know if what is written is true or not. The language in this book did surprise me, lots of curing. However, this in keeping with the book being written as a train of consciousness using words many people would only call out in their heads. A very gripping book which took several twists and the story is told.
